About this event

The Energy and Environment Symposium sells out each year. Attendance is offered to our target audience of local governments, other agencies and industry representatives navigating oil and gas development impacts, permitting, regulation and related issues. Other interested parties are not offered opportunity to register in advance but may contact event organizer to request consideration for attendance on a space available basis if there are attendee cancellations in the week prior to the event. Presentation videos and PowerPoint presentations are posted online for free public access each year.

Registration includes the Tuesday night Meet & Greet event; Keynote luncheon both days; an optional field tour; AND, the ever popular Steak Fry in the Gas Patch dinner and networking event.

If you would like to be invoiced or pay with a check click on the "Payment options" link during registration.

Agenda coming in the spring!

The symposium program is especially designed for local elected officials, city and county managers, planners, finance officers, attorneys, oil and gas specialists and those who work with or regulate the energy industry on behalf of local governments.

We again are providing Continuing Education credits for attorneys and planners!

As local government officials, we all know oil and gas development is an important part of Colorado's economy. Garfield County and The Unconventional Energy Center at Colorado Mesa University present this symposium to enhance your knowledge of issues common to local governments navigating oil and gas extraction. This learning event will provide opportunity for open dialog with your peers about managing financial, social, environmental, legal and land use planning issues surrounding oil and gas operations.
